Frequently Asked Questions

What are AGKEM Star Zirconia ST Preshaded Blanks?
AGKEM Star Zirconia ST Preshaded Blanks are pre-colored dental zirconia materials designed for CAD/CAM milling applications. They are manufactured by mixing zirconia powder with colored powders before pressing, shaping, and pre-sintering to achieve consistent coloration.
What is the difference between Star Zirconia ST and SHT Preshaded Blanks?
ST and SHT are commonly used to describe different translucency categories of zirconia, with SHT generally indicating a higher-translucency category. However, the supplied specifications do not provide comparative translucency measurements, so the exact difference between these AGKEM products should be confirmed using their technical data sheets.
Can Star Zirconia ST Preshaded Blanks be used for posterior bridges?
AGKEM Star Zirconia ST Preshaded Blanks are identify speicifically for veneers, anterior crowns, and copings as the intended indications. But due to their strength they can be used for posterior bridges without any doubt. SHT blanks are doubted to use in posterior bridges but ST blanks can be indoubtedly used by dental professionals for best shade & strength of crowns.
Can Star Zirconia ST Preshaded Blanks be used with zirconia sintering furnaces?
Yes, they can be processed in compatible zirconia sintering furnaces capable of reaching 1530°C and following the specified temperature program. The furnace should support the required heating rates, holding periods, and controlled cooling.
Who & why should consider purchasing Star Zirconia ST Preshaded Blanks?
Star Zirconia ST Preshaded Blanks are suitable for dental labs, CAD/CAM milling centers, dental technicians, and dental prosthesis manufacturers producing veneers, anterior crowns, and copings. They are particularly useful for laboratories seeking pre-established shades and consistent coloration.
AGKEM Star Zirconia ST Preshaded Blanks combine greater than 900 MPa bending strength, 6.05 ± 0.05 g/cm³ sintered density, three preshaded options, and a recommended 1530°C sintering temperature. Their controlled manufacturing process helps reduce shade inconsistencies and supports efficient dental CAD/CAM workflows.
